Cafe Scientifique is pleased to welcome two members of the Tauranga Observatory, Fergusson Park, Matua to present tonight.
Raewyn will take us on a photographic visit to the Royal Observatory at Greenwich, which was founded by Charles II in 1675 and is one of the most important historic scientific sites in the world.
Today the Observatory is a museum and science centre, which I visited in 2018.
Learn what is significant about the Royal Observatory. Find out how the Royal Observatory played a major role in the history of astronomy and navigation. Who were the Astronomers Royal? What did they discover?
David will show us images from the new meteor camera mounted at the Tauranga Observatory.
