The effect of freeze-dried oyster mushroom on cognition, mood and metabolism in older adults (Sara Cha – University of Reading)
I am Sara Cha, a third year PhD student at the Department of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences, at the University of Reading. My PhD examines the immediate (acute) and chronic effects of ergothioneine rich freeze-dried oyster mushroom on cognition, mood and metabolism in older adults.
My talk will provide an overview of my PhD journey so far, discussing the findings from my systematic review, an epidemiological project I conducted examining the relationship of mushroom intake and cognitive function in the EPIC-Norfolk cohort as well as briefly discussing the design and findings of the 2 human clinical trials that I had to complete for my PhD project (OYSACO & OYSCOG).

We meet 1st Tuesday of the month. Format is gathering from 7.00pm with talks commencing at 7.30pm. Talks timings are completely flexible but generally 40-60mins + Q&A with a ~20mins break to encourage social networking.
