The Mobtown Ballroom & Cafe, formerly known as the Mobtown Ballroom, is throwing a grand opening party at its brand-new space (30 W. North Ave.) inside Station North’s North Avenue Market on Saturday, April 20.

The soft opening is complete and the delicious food and coffee menus are locked in. Come celebrate the formal opening of what is sure to be a Baltimore staple. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the free party will feature live music from Baltimore jazz fixture Christie Macdonald and The Mel B Trio. The gals from local woman-owned raw bar collective Galatea Oysters will be shuckin’ sea treats, and the cafe’s full menu and brunch specials by chef Jake Cornman will be available.
In their new Station North home, the Mobtown team has not only added a cafe to their programming, but they have also vastly expanded their offerings as a music venue. So, to keep the party going later in the evening, they’ll be hosting JAMES BROWN VS TINA TURNER, two sets of live music paying tribute to the legends. The night festivities will also highlight bar snacks and drinks crafted by bar manager Dave Cavalier. The ticketed event starts at 7 p.m., with music from 8-11 p.m. Buy Tix Here!

Cornman, formerly of Dylan’s Oyster Cellar, describes the overall food program as, “simple classics done right and from scratch.” He’s excited to officially debut his sandwiches, salads, and soups—paired with a full service coffee bar—by day, as well as options like Ribwiches, fried chicken sandwiches, Frito Pie, and fried pickles—accompanied by Cavalier’s original and classic cocktails—at night.

“The combination of a daytime coffee program and an evening events space is perfect for Station North, we think,” said Sarah Sullivan and Michael Seguin, Mobtown Ballroom & Cafe’s co-founders. “It lends itself to the kind of community-based second-home feeling that we believe in and work to cultivate.”
