WHEN The Young Artist Program runs for 3 weeks during the festival, July 1 through 21, 2024
WHERE The program is based at CPMF’s San Antonio concert home, Univ. of the Incarnate Word. The Young Artists will form an ensemble—and ensembles—to study and perform chamber music. The curriculum will include private instruction and chamber music coaching's with Education Director Craig Sorgi, Education Assistant Karen Stiles, and Festival Artists, lecture classes on aspects of music performance/careers, as well as several community engagement concerts. The Young Artists, who are calling their ensemble SONIDO SAGUARO, will be presented in their own final concert on July 21, 3pm, showcasing the exceptional work they have put in during their 3-week residency under the guidance of seasoned, world-class teachers. As the young artists’ summer schedule of performances firms up, we will post it on our website, cpmf.us/yap-winners-2024. WHY A vibrant music festival organization commissions new works, showcases the talent of its musicians and the fruits of its collaborations, and serves the community in which it is based with the highest level of musical artistry and education. The Young Artist Program is the keystone of CPMF’s educational mission, offering to serious young musicians in the San Antonio area a TUITION-FREE opportunity to study with, and be mentored by, some of the nation’s top chamber musicians. The program also gives these young artists an opportunity to share their talents with the community in free concerts around greater San Antonio
Although it is a free concert, due to limited seating we do need you to register for your free ticket.
