About this Event

What is a Cacao ceremony?

Cacao ceremonies are about intention, and when done with others it’s also about community, so sharing is highly encouraged (although, not required). We’ll drink ceremonial Cacao, pay homage to its origins, share our gratitude and intentions, meditate and journal.

What is ceremonial Cacao?

Scientifically called Theobroma Cacao, it is the raw, unprocessed version of chocolate. Ceremonial Cacao is made for ritual purposes and is produced with passion and intention.

What are the origins of Cacao ceremonies?

Cacao ceremonies are rooted in indigenous practices from Central and South America, which is also where the ceremonial Cacao we consume is harvested and produced. It is important to acknowledge and honor the origins of this practice, as well as give thanks to the energies they’ve put into the making of it.

Is it safe to consume?

Cacao is one of the richest foods in magnesium. Cacao supports heart and brain health, stimulates blood flow, and relaxes muscles and joints. Without getting too sciency- it’s generally good for you, is a mood booster, provides clarity and focus, and opens your heart and mind.

People who are pregnant, on certain anti-depressants, or on high blood pressure Medic*tion should consult a doctor, and consume in moderation.

Does it taste like chocolate?

Yes, and no. Because it is unprocessed, it is not as sweet as regular chocolate, and has a taste that some might consider bitter.

What should I bring?

Lots of water! Drinking water is important when consuming Cacao, especially if it’s not something you consume regularly.

Bring a blanket, pillow or cushion to sit on, a journal, pen and your intention!
