Critters are yet again coming together to celebrate each other and our cosplay creations at C2E2 2025, and as is custom when the cast attends the con, we will have TWO meetups!This event listing is for SATURDAY.
WHEN: Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 6:00 PM CST SHARP. Please be on time, or you might miss your group. We have 1 hour of photographer time and a lot of group shots to get through!
WHERE: We will be in a BRAND NEW SPOT this year on the Grand Concourse, as our meetup has made the official schedule! Maps and precise info to follow, but it sounds like we will be near the C2E2 letters!
HOW: Kayla- your humble host, will be directing cosplayers by organized groups (campaign, character/player/npc, etc) to get everything done in a timely fashion. Please be listening for your cue! Critters not cosplaying are welcome to attend- please give space and listen out for directions from the pro photographers so we can make this as smooth as possible. We will move away from the space when our hour is up and can disperse nearby for socializing and smaller photos. We have one hour of time for these shots and then need to vacate for the next group. We are a very diligent bunch, so this usually is a piece of cake as long as everyone participates!
WHO: Photography this year is being handled by the lovely Jason Ernst of Chicagoconpics, he shot our meetup last year too.
SAFETY: If you need any assistance due to mobility devices or issues, disability, hearing or sight impairment, injury, or anything else- please feel free to speak up to me directly. I try to make it as easy as possible on everyone to participate. I will be doing a lot of shuffling of cosplayers to maximize photo space and arrangement, and I want to be considerate of people's needs. Same for all of you- respect the bodily autonomy and well being of your fellow Critters, and help each other out by being aware of large props/wings/etc.
AND it goes without saying in the era of flu and covid- masks are welcome. We support anyone who chooses to mask. If you specifically would like to only be on outside spots and/or around other masked individuals in tight photos where social distancing is difficult, please let me know early and I will do my very best to accommodate you. That being said, social distancing is basically impossible during these photos, so please make sure you are comfortable with close quarters for ~10 minute increments if you plan to participate. If you are sick, have symptoms of illness, or have recently been around those who have- I expect you to do the responsible thing and sit this one out. We love each other here, and that includes being considerate of the people who are the most high-risk among us.
