C. S. Lewis as a Philosopher

C. S. Lewis is better known as a Christian apologist and man of literature, but he was steeped in philosophical studies. He was a writer who could handle deep concepts with a sure touch and also a common touch.

This course will look at the Early Church interaction with Greek philosophy; Boethius’ Consolations of Philosophy; the so-called medieval mind of C. S. Lewis; ‘The Discarded Image’; Lewis on truth; Lewis on goodness; and Lewis on beauty.
