It’s winter: it’s cold, the nights are short, the rain is falling sideways - ideal conditions for a céilí! Come and join The Great Beag Céilí Band at Thistle Hall for a fun (and warm) evening of rousing social dancing to the band’s foot-stomping celtic tunes. Got more than your fair share of left feet? No worries! There are no fancy moves and you don’t need any previous experience. We have a caller to tell everyone what to do, and we walk each dance through before adding the music. This is social dancing so bring all your friends, and there’s no need to bring a specific partner - there’ll be lots of friendly people to dance with.

Light refreshments will be available. We recommend bringing a water bottle to grab a quick drink between dances - hydration is key!
This is an alcohol-free event.
Getting here: Thistle Hall is located upstairs at 293 Cuba St, on the corner. The entrance is through the side door that faces Arthur St (SH1).
There is no parking available at the hall. We recommend public transport: buses stop nearby along Victoria St, Ghuznee St, and Taranaki St.
Health notice: Céilí dancing is a great way to meet lots of people. If you are feeling unwell then please stay home this time and we will see you at the next one.
