About this Event
Giselle is a romantic ballet that tells the story of a peasant girl who falls in love with a disguised nobleman, Albrecht. When his true identity is revealed, Giselle dies of heartbreak and becomes a Wili, a spirit of a maiden who died before her wedding day. In the afterlife, she must join other Wilis in forcing men to dance to their deaths. When Albrecht visits her grave, Giselle's love protects him from the vengeful Wilis, ultimately saving both from a tragic fate.
BYU Theatre Ballet, founded in 1967, is the premier ballet company of Brigham Young University. Known for its commitment to classical ballet training and performance, the company provides students with opportunities to develop their talents while sharing the art of dance with audiences.
