The / Quartet is a new co-led formation, performing the two multi-reedists' chamber jazz compositions that explore the different instrumentations and timbres available to the group, including a range of saxophones, clarinets and flutes, bass and drums. They are joined in the group by top young creative bassist (Extended) and long-time New Orleans by way of Memphis drummer (The Iguanas). Asher and Majcherski met in New Orleans in 2013 and formed a fast working relationship, performing together and subbing for each other in various projects around town. After a decade of friendship, they started this project in 2023. Their debut album as co-leaders is forthcoming in 2024/2025.
