General Information:
For the Byrdhouse 7-Year Anniversary, we decided to host a Band Olympics on Saturday October 25th at No Fun located at 275 River Street, Troy, NY. Doors-6PM Music-7PM. Each band will come up with ORIGINAL music for an approximately 15 minute long set (2-4 songs). Exciting news is that the winner of the Band Olympics will get recording time at Tummy Rub Records located at 703 Yates Street, Albany, NY! The Band Olympics consists of musicians being randomly assigned to other musicians in the scene to come together and create music together as a band. The bands are all tasked to create original music for an approximate 15 minute long set. Byrdhouse Records has always been about bringing the community together through music and this just seemed like the best way to celebrate our 7-Year Anniversary. I (Rachel) also love No Fun and became a co-owner of the business this year, so it only made sense to have it at No Fun! We have eight bands participating in the Band Olympics with 4-5 members each.

Many of these musicians are in great local bands in the area like Jesse Bolduc from Candy Ambulance, Josh Reedy, Adam Russell, and Justin Holden from Proximity Crush, Nick Stamos from Kakos, Nick Tirado from Galene, Justin Holden from OTOBO, Gabe Klingler-Horn from Canella and Stella and the Reptilians, Mike Smith from Grape Juice! and Billy and the Great Western Postal Service, Ed Cormac from The Plisskens, Anna Mae, Evan Spain, John Rua, and James Rua from Pink Lady, Sarah from Rainbows & Razorblades, Jordan Demarest from Senior Living, Everybody That Loves You, Stella and the Reptilians, and more, Sean C. being a well-known comedian in the scene performing music too, and there are plenty of more musicians in this in different bands.
