By Divine Right returns to Regina after a decade away, fresh out of the studio and back into the van. A homecoming of sorts for me (that's Alysha on bass) with lifelong friends and local legends The Won'ts and Deep Archive.
Since 1989, By Divine Right (BDR) has featured the psych-infused art-pop songwriting of Chilean-born, Toronto-based artist José Miguel Contreras Avendaño. In the early days, BDR’s ever evolving line-up was one of Canada’s first indie rock collectives, counting amongst some of its members Feist, Brendan Canning (Broken Social Scene) and Brian Borcherdt (Holy Fuck).

Deep Archive is a four piece band from Treaty 6 Territory. Longtime Saskatoon music scene contributors Chad Munson, Darren Miller, Jeff “Yer Dun Bud” Pederson, and Will Robbins have been quietly working away on some very loud and strange music for over half a decade. Deep Archive have focused ever more tightly on the purely instrumental aspects of the project.
