About this Event
Join us for a weekend of sisterhood and cycling as we explore the stunning Kent countryside and coast. Our cosy property is located just minuites from the beach in Ramsgate, Kent, a seaside town. It's near the Viking Coast, making it a fantastic destination for cycling, adventure and pure relaxation. We can't wait!
Our stunning period property is set in an acre of enclosed private grounds adjoining idyllic countryside, perfect for exploring the outdoors and observing beautiful wildlife by bike.
The location and the house are exceptional. The house is equipped with many luxuries:
- 5 large bedrooms (Twin sized bedrooms) with stunning sea views
- Minuites from Ramsgates Main Sands Beach
- Games room
- Comfy sofas and a large flatscreen TV
- Outside BBQ and large seating area
- Outdoor fireplace
Arriving from 5 pm on Friday 27th of September you will be greeted with a glass of bubbly. festivities will begin with a short local 'sunset' cycle followed by a chilled-out dinner.
On Saturday we will explore the Viking Coastal Trail by bike, and stop for a lunch break in Margate. We'll return to the house by bike and spend the rest of the evening together eating and chatting at a local restaurant.
On Sunday, we will enjoy an off-the-bike activity before and possibly a cheeky ride before returning for dinner.
On our final day, Monday, we check-out and go for brunch and maybe even sneak in an optional ride.
The activities described above are subject to change. A full itinerary will be provided closer to the event to attendees.
All rooms are furnished to a high standard. There are a number of options:
- £350 for all rooms. The house has a variety of different rooms ranging from single and double occupancy rooms. Rooms will be assigned on a first-come first-serve basis.

- Off-the-Bike activities like Ramsgate Seal and Wildlife Boat Trips OR pottery painting, for example. This will be decided by a group vote closer to the time.

- Alcohol (there will be limited alcohol provided but there is the option to pre-book additional alcohol. More details will be provided later).
How do I book? To avoid hefty fees we will be booking via We Travel which also enables us to provide instalment options.

Can I come to the BWOW weekender? As our name Black women on wheels suggests, this is a safe space for Black/Mixed Race cis and trans women of Black African and/or Caribbean descent. We are not a BAME, POC, BIPOC, WOC, Politically Black or Ally organisation.
Is this beginner-friendly? This weekend is aimed at the intermediate-level cyclist who is comfortable riding on roads and is happy cycling 20+ miles without stopping.

Do you provide transport?
No, you will need to make your own way there.
By Train:
Trains from London takes about 2 hours. The nearest railway station to the house is Dumpton Park Railway Station. For information about train times and route planning by train visit www.nationalrail.co.uk or phone 03457 48 49 50. Travel to the house from the station is 15 minuites walk or 5 minuites by bike.
Travel from Ramsgate Station by bike will take around 9 mins.
By Car:
The house is located in Ramsgate, Dumpton Park. The house can be accessed via Winterstoke Cres. Free Parking is available on site of up to 3 cars.
