About this Event
The ‘12 Days of Wellness’ campaign is a community-oriented initiative designed to promote mental health and emotional well-being for Black women and girls this holiday season. Centered around our , this campaign will offer practical daily activities designed to empower participants to take control of their mental well-being.
This initiative comes at a critical time, as Black women and girls continue to face unique challenges that put them at risk for mental and physical health issues. Challenges like continually confronting the burden of racial and gender-based discrimination and other social determinants of health, such as reduced access to quality and culturally-competent care, often result in higher levels of anxiety, depression, and chronic stress. The holiday season can exacerbate these issues for some as they may experience Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), otherwise known as seasonal depression, which can compound feelings of stress, isolation, and overwhelm.
Our intent is that this campaign will provide guidance on how we can work together to find inner peace, support, and a sense of belonging. We hope it serves as a call to action to invest in one’s own mental health while also supporting ongoing efforts to combat health disparities for all Black women and girls.
We hope that by participating in the campaign, you remember that you are not alone and that when we come together, healing is possible.
