Because of weather and logistical issues, we are postponing the Brandywine Valley Roubaix (BVR) until Sunday, May 19th. All pre-registrations will be automatically moved to the new event date. The BVR has always been a socially focused event where riders can enjoy the beautiful countryside, an excellent rest stop at The Whip Tavern, and enjoy donuts on donut hill. Another highlight of the event is spending time with your friend and fellow riders after the ride at the pizza and beer party. None of these things would be enjoyable or practical during a raw and rainy day. For these reasons we have decided on behalf of all the riders, and event venue, and sponsors to postpone the BVR for 2 weeks until Sunday, May 19th.
Bikereg will be updated with the May 19th event date, and will remain open until May 18th at 5PM.
FOR ALL THOSE WHO PRE-REGISTERED FOR MAY 5th:
Fear not…all pre-registrations will be automatically moved to the 19th. If you are able to join us, GREAT, we’ll see you then, no need to respond. If you cannot attend on that date, you have 4 options:
1. We can provide you with a credit for the Fall BVR
2. You can donate your entry to our charity, Quest Therapeutics
3. You can transfer your entry to someone else
4. We can refund your registration
Just send us an email with what you’d like to do.
Because we need to do final planning for the event, the deadline for changing your registration is Sunday May 12th. After that all registrations will be final.
Thank you for your support of the Brandywine Valley Roubaix. May 19th is the final date for the event, so it will be held rain or shine. See you then!

We pleased to announce the 9th Annual Brandywine Valley Roubaix (BVR) will be held on Sunday May 19th. This Gravel Grinder / Gran Fondo will take riders through the scenic country-side and rolling hills of the Brandywine Valley, some of the most unspoiled and historic countryside of the Mid-Atlantic. The full ride is 61 miles (and 4,000 feet of climbing) with over 40% consisting of gravel / mixed surface roads including the famed 1 mile long Hill Top Road climb (10% grade in some sections) and the now famous "Donut Hill". The course is suited for both road bikes (25 mm tires best) and cyclocross bikes. A shorter version of the course (~ 34 miles) with reduced gravel sectors and climbs are also offered. This event is an untimed Gran Fondo and all riders must obey the rules of the road. We are grateful to our title sponsor Piscitello Law and the generous support of The Whip Tavern, Holly Gross Group and Active Yards for contributing food, drinks and rest stop venue....our events are not possible without their assistance.
