I did this walk and dip last year, although we parked further away and did an 8 mile walk - it was beautiful but challenging on a hot day!This time I'd like to get to the plunge pools first then perhaps head down to the lake for a dip and BBQ?
So I would suggest meeting at Gatesgarth Farm, postcode CA13 9XA at 10.45 to leave at 11am.
It is 2.6 miles to the plunge pools and not too challenging with only a few little inclines and a steeper incline to the plunge pools (there are several to choose from!).
After this we will head back to the cars and for those who fancy another dip in Buttermere lake and a BBQ we can collect our fresh gear and head down. I don't recall the distance from this car park to the lake but I don't think it's too far to find a nice spot.
This really is one on the most stunning areas to explore and I'm so excited to show you all!
