Attention butterfly enthusiasts of all ages! Make your way to the Washington County Fair on opening night, Tuesday, August 19, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. There, the Washington County Master Gardeners will host a free, family-friendly "Butterfly Magic" education station where you can explore the butterfly life cycle complete with live critters, experience how a butterfly sees the world, learn which host and nectar plants are preferred by butterflies and pollinators, and get a free (temporary) butterfly tattoo!Along with members of the Washington County Master Gardeners and the NWA Master Naturalists, pollinator expert Dr. Neelandra Joshi and graduate students from the UA Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology will be on hand with insect displays and live butterflies.
It all happens in front of the Horticulture Building on the west side of the fairgrounds. Flutter on over!
