About this Event
Femme Films presents... But I'm a Cheerleader (1999)
Join us for an event at St Catherines Village Hall
Femme Films is a volunteer run community cinema based in the Woking/Guildford area that aims to champion female-led films that go often overlooked in mainstream cinemas.
Jamie Babbit’s 1999 cult classic follows Megan (Natasha Lyonne), a naive teenager who is sent to rehab camp when her straitlaced parents and friends suspect her of being a lesbian. But I’m a Cheerleader is a campy kitsch and ultra stylized comedy that is a staple in queer cinema and culture.
Doors will be open from 7pm and the film will start around 7:30pm.
Light refreshments will be available. For drinks (teas, coffees etc) and snacks (popcorn, crisps) we just ask kindly for any donation, so bring cash please!! Also feel free to bring anything you would like to snack on or drink!!
