Come join us at Maryland Art Place Inc for a unique film showing, accompanied by a loose leaf tea-mixing ceremony. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own teacups!
Busy Slowing Down uses Yoko Ono's 1964 conceptual art book Grapefruit to create a framework of mindful presence and explore the power of collecting energies. Curated by Gabi Kortemeier, the exhibition features texts, sounds, and sculptures by three contemporary artists who draw inspiration directly from Ono’s book, and who embrace using instruction-based artworks to prioritize process over product. Busy Slowing Down invites audiences to draw connections between Ono and a new generation of artists, and to participate in artist-led programs that foster collective effervescence and delight in the creative moment.
