Jo Burgess – Founder, Life Sorted and Shortcuts Software
Jo is an experienced entrepreneur and business owner who has grown many successful companies. Jo co-founded and is a senior executive of a world leading salon management platform. Shortcuts, a Brisbane-based startup success, launched in 1994 with the world’s first touchscreen booking and POS system for salons, that now boasts over 14,000 customers globally.
Her 20 years experience of developing calendaring and booking systems for the complex international salon environment, combined with having a family and managing a household has led her to this next innovation, Life Sorted. Life Sorted is a shared family organiser app, designed specifically to reduce stress and overwhelm around family scheduling, through increasing productivity and improving family communication.
Jo will share how she has juggled her commitments whilst driving a successful business, and insights from her research into what makes a highly productive life.
Sacha Drake – Fashion Designer and Owner, Sacha Drake
Sacha is the founder of successful Australian fashion brand, SACHA DRAKE. The brand offers clothes that inspire confidence in women through their flattering design for work and events. Sacha has accumulated hard earned experience in women's apparel design, manufacturing, sales and distribution. The SACHA DRAKE brand has grown from a wholesale fashion business to also encompassing retail, e-commerce, and many third party partnerships.
Currently the brand has three retail stores in Queensland and is stocked around Australia by over 100 retailers. Sacha continues to be the designer of the brand whilst navigating the ever-changing future of the fashion industry. Whilst proudly Australian made, the brand has also expanded its international manufacturing and sourcing base in anticipation of growth into the next phase of the business.
