About this Event
The UK construciton industry is facing significant challenges! One of these challenges is the act of balancing the requirement to reduce environmental impact as well as to deliver social value and remain competitive. It is imperative for industry professionals to understand how climate change, carbon emissions and the circular economy is relevant to the operations of their business. This will also include observing how they work with their stakeholders and wider supply chain.
The British Chambers of Commerce latest report showed that action on net zero has been held back by a lack of business understanding. Businesses are not yet fully engaging with net zero targets resulting in the knock-on effect to customers, consumers and, of course, the environment.
Covering a high level understanding, this hybrid event is about what the Circular Economy is, how it fits in with climate change as well as providing knowledge on Net Zero Carbon. Looking into the relevance in the construction industry whilst providing an overview of Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions with practical tips on how to start measuring and reducing your carbon footprint.
