Calling all startups and existing businesses operating within Sunderland’s Creative sector!
Join our Business Brunch on Wednesday, 8 January 2025 from 10.00am . This event is designed to bring Sunderland based creatives together as well as help grow and diversify their business activity.
At our Business Brunch, attendees will:
- Attendees will hear compelling business journeys from talented Sunderland based creatives including Poppy Green of Women’s Community Boutique and Ruth Hutchinson of Theatre Space North East.
- Discover the latest market trends, consumer buying behaviours, and funding opportunities through the power of market research – essential for local creatives!
- Tap into free advice and need to know business support programmes planned for local creatives from BIPC North East and North East Business Innovation Centre.
- Connect with other local creatives businesses, artists, and freelancers within the Sunderland’s creative community.
As the title suggests, a delicious brunch will be provided.

Who should attend these sessions?
This event is open for all Sunderland businesses including pre starts, start-ups, freelancers, established businesses and sole traders operating in the creative sector which might include advertising, architecture, art and antiques, artisan food producers, crafts, designer makers, designer fashion, film, music, performing arts, photography, publishing, software and computer services and TV and radio.
This event is funded by Sunderland Council through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Poppy Green, Women’s Community Boutique
Women’s Community Boutique, based in Sunderland’s East End, is a social enterprise dedicated to empowering women in the North East through sustainable fashion, creativity, and community support. Our boutique offers curated preowned clothing, bridal wear, upcycling workshops, and social events, with a focus on environmental responsibility, inclusivity, and promoting integration. Our fashion reflects the diverse cultures of the women we support, facilitating meaningful connections across communities. In addition, we provide resources for employability, mental health, digital skills, and language development, making our boutique a vibrant hub for growth, connection, and cultural exchange.
