Bushfood & Biodiversity - Free Walk & Talk: Flora 4 Fauna - Australia will be hosting a Free Walk & Talk at the Peacehaven Botanic Park.
The Walk & Talk will begin at 09:00am and finish at approx. 11:00 noon. The address is the Peacehaven Botanic Park - 56 Kuhls Road, Highfields, 4352, QLD.
During this event, we will be looking at the many native edible, pollinator attractors and utility plants that have been planted throughout the gardens and discuss their traditional and contemporary uses.
This event will enable you to clearly identify the plants discussed, know how implement them into your own life and the role they play in the environment around you!
* To help with the revegetation of the local area and to help conserve our native flora and fauna, we will be bringing some plants with us and will make them available for sale after the walk and talk, for those who may be interested. All plants are $5 and $10 each and all sales are cash only!
There are dozens of different native and endemic species available, including some rare and hard-to-find bushfoods, medicinal plants, fauna attractors and utility trees, many of which we will see and learn more about on the walk and talk!
* FYI - This Walk & Talk will be held in one of the new areas of the park!

Bushfood & Biodiversity - Free Walk & Talk - Sunday 17th of November 2024:
We will meet on the lawn opposite the front carpark near the entrance, use Google Maps or www.whereis.com to plan you trip (if needed).
We encourage everyone to bring, the following items:
- Sunhat;
- Sunglasses;
- Sun-screen;
- Small umbrella / raincoat (just in case);
- Insect repellent;
- Water bottle;
- Weather suitable clothing;
- Closed shoes / boots;
- Binoculars & Camera (if you have them)
- Some $ (cash) in case you wish to buy some plants!
Native Plant Sale -
We will be bringing a selection of native Australian bushfoods, medicinal plants, fauna attractors and utility trees with us, for those who may want to purchase some of the plants we will see in the arboretum to plant into your own garden / property. The plants will be $5 each and all sales are cash only!
We will start the Walk & Talk at 09:00am, so please arrive on site at approx. 08:45am, so we can start on time.
