About this Event
Want to learn more about what the environment can provide you to enhance your time on the land? Want to learn new skills in fire-lighting, plant uses and wild foods?
Join Steve England for a half-day course in bushcraft, where we will explore the woods and fields of Stoke Park, looking at the trees, plants and learning about their uses and how we can harness them for our benefit, including for fire and medicines such as deriving asparin from the willow tree and making cordage from tree bark and grass. We will identify and collect a number of wild edible foods for tasting along the way, and identify and collect fire lighting materials, learn the basics of fire making and how to make a fire from freshly cut wet wood, and then put into practice your newly acquired skills!
This beginners bushcraft course is aimed at adults and outdoor enthusiasts. 14+. We will be meeting at the Cameron Centre, Cameron Walk, Lockleaze, Bristol. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the event start time so we can set off promptly.
