OFFICIAL RULES:
Busey Brews is accepting beer brewed at the participant's home following the guidelines of the German beer law Reinheitsgebot. This statute limits beer brewers to just four ingredients: malt, hops, yeast and water. Participants must drop off 32 oz of finished beer in a sealed container and a copy of the beer recipe (including abv) between May 1 and May 6, 2024 at Busey Brews located at 70 E 1st Street, Nederland, CO 80466. The beer must be brewed in a small batch (1/2 barrel or less). The beer will be judged using the BJCP standards, and participants will be given a written copy of the results for each entry. The winner will be offered the opportunity to brew their recipe on Busey Brews' 4-barrel production system in early August 2024, to be tapped at the end of September 2024 (to coincide with Oktoberfest). If extracts are used in the home brew recipe, the recipe will be adapted to all grain before brewing at Busey Brews. The winner is entitled to a free beer of their choice with each visit to Busey Brews as long as their beer is on tap at the restaurant.
