BURY ST EDMUNDS URBAN ORIENTEERING SUNDAY 6th OCTOBER - ENTRIES NOW OPEN Suffolk Orienteering Club welcome you to the historic town of Bury St Edmunds for an urban orienteering event starting and finishing is the beautiful Abbey Gardens.
Explore the historic Suffolk market town of Bury St Edmunds - you’ll be planning routes via streets, alleys & pathways to find checkpoints in both the historic & the modern areas of the town. The event is for both experienced orienteers and welcomes first-timers.
EA Urban League and SEUOL
Pre-entry for individuals on the main competition courses will be via the www.racesignup.co.uk website until 29th September. On- the-day entries will be available for groups & for newcomers - and it may be also be possible for individuals on the main competition courses, subject to map availability.
There will be a choice of distance, and if you’re over 16 years of age & not competing in the urban leagues, you’ll be able to enter whichever course suits your level of fitness and whether you plan to run or walk. Those participating in the urban leagues will need to enter the correct age category, as indicated on the entry portal.
Under-16s are only permitted to enter courses 6 or 7. Under-12s are only permitted to enter course 7.
New to Orienteering: Make your way to the Help Desk in Abbey Gardens and speak to one of our helpers. - we’ll explain the basics & help you choose the most suitable course.
Electronic timing will be used - the timing chips, or SI cards, may be hired via on-line entry or on the day, and will need to be collected from registration. For experienced orienteers with SI cards which can be used in “contactless” mode SIAC will be enabled.
Standard Entry fees (until 23rd September)
Senior member: £10.00
Senior non-member: £12.00
Junior: £4.00
Late entry (between 24th and 29th September) and entry on day (subject to map availability)

Junior: £4.00
Chip hire: £1.00 (replacement cost of £30 if not returned)
SIAC chip hire £3.00 (replacement cost of £65 if not returned)
