Burum Basics: What is Beer?
This is a tasting for all hospitality staff, whether you're front of house or back. An introduction to the common beer styles you almost certainly sell or get asked about. Answering questions like; whats the difference between a pale ale and an IPA?? A crash course on the four main ingredients in beer, how beer is made, and how to taste beer. Bring your notepads and pens!
£5 a ticket.

The Session
Hosted by Helen Anne Smith of Wilderness Brewing. Helen is a qualified Certified Cicerone, with seven years of experience in the beer industry. They used to be the GM and cellar manager at Bacareto and have many years experience of serving and selling beer in hospitality spaces.
Helen has been tasting and blending beers for the past three years with a variety of breweries through their job at Wilderness. They've produced educational content for CAMRA Learn and Discover programme, completed a three months internship with Cloudwater Brewing in Manchester, and have also worked with BeerRiff Brewing in Swansea.
Helen is currently studying for their Advanced Cicerone qualification, and is looking to produce more accessible content and training for people in hospitality. Information is power!
