Please join us for The Burrito Project on Thursday November 20, 2025, at 6:30pm. We are meeting in LINCOLN HEIGHTS at the Church of the Epiphany Kitchen on the South-East corner of Altura Street & Sichel Street.
NOTE: There is a LOT of information packed into this event invitation. If you read it all the way through, I'm sure most of your questions will be answered. If I missed something, please message me and I'll answer your question(s). =)
The Burrito Project allows us to share some happiness with our neighbors who are living on the streets of Downtown Los Angeles.
This event is FREE, if you'd like to donate $10 (or more) we will gladly accept your help paying for food and supplies.
Giving the gift of food, clean water and clothing to people in need is a noble gift that seems to enhance the life of both the giver and receiver. Many people have come to me after The Burrito Project and shared that they feel they received way more than they gave during this night of sharing. (I hope you can write about your burrito project experience so we can share it on our website). To read what some volunteers have shared, please visit: http://theburritoproject.org/testimonials
WHAT IS THE BURRITO PROJECT?
The Burrito Project is a group of really cool & groovy people (like YOU) who get together & make burritos. Once the burritos are made, we deliver the burritos along with bottled water, clothing & toiletry kits to the hungry & homeless in downtown LA.
INTERESTED?
We gather on the THIRD Thursday evening of the month.
THIS month we will be in Lincoln Heights at the Church of the Epiphany Kitchen on the South-East corner of Altura Street & Sichel Street.
We start gathering between 6:30-7:30 so we can prepare the kitchen & start warming up the 750+ tortillas needed for the night. Join us for light snacks, a burrito, beverages & conversation.
We officially start the "festivities" about 7:30pm.
The Burrito Project has 2 main Phases. You are invited to join us for Phase 1, Phase 2 or BOTH for the Full Burrito Project Experience.
PRE-PHASE - 6:30pm-7:30pm
* Gathering food donations, preparing the facility and warming tortillas.
PHASE 1 - 7:30pm-9:00pm
* Warming tortillas, cooking, assembling burritos, sorting clothing, Clean Up.
PHASE 2 - 9:00pm-10:30pm
* Delivery of burritos, bottled water, clothing, etc. to the homeless in Downtown Los Angeles. We walk a predesignated route in a large group.
* Delivery can go late if we start late (depending on how quickly we clean up the kitchen facility). Delivery usually goes quicker when we have a large group to help hand out all of our items.
* We have finished as early as 10:15pm but have also gone as late as 11:30pm.

Please RSVP so I can provide enough beverages and snacks. You are also welcome to enjoy a yummy burrito for a dinner snack and donate your dinner money to: The Burrito Project. (This idea came from one of our volunteers).
ALSO, remember to wear comfortable shoes (preferably closed toe) and to dress appropriately for the weather. Summer is here but the evenings can cool down quickly!
