About this Event
Ever wondered how stormwater ponds protect us from flooding and improve water quality? Join us on a walking tour to learn about stormwater ponds in Brampton. The tour will take place outside (rain or shine) at Burrells Hollow pond.
Burrells Hollow Pond was built in 2006 and is currently storing about 1,600 cubic meters of dirt, sand and sediment. Starting in the summer of 2024, the City will begin construction at Burrells Hollow and Upper Ridge Pond to help protect sensitive fish in the Humber River. Come out and learn about the history, key features, how it works, and why we need to clean out and retrofit the two ponds.
Where: Meet at the pond, enter from the path between 28 and 30 Serviceberry Crescent.
Who: This event is a family-friendly event. Please exercise caution when near open bodies of water.
Accessibility: The walk will take place on paved pathways and sidewalks. Some surfaces may be uneven, grassy and on a slight slope.
All participants must sign a Waiver Form in order to participate. You can find the waiver here.
