Come one, come all! The Divine Alliance x Wook Pack presents… Burn the Witch! Join us for a night of empowerment and transmutation for our first fundraiser supporting domestic abuse awareness month.Proceeds will be going to HAVEN Shelter for Women and Children
Burn the Witch project began in October 2023 to encourage abuse survivors to use their voice and heal from hurt. Over 47% of women experience physical / domestic violence in their lifetime. Domestic abuse can be life-threatening and pervasive, we hope to spread awareness for safety and collective support.
The title reclaims a phrase that has historically been used to silence, punish, and erase women, survivors, and anyone who lived outside of patriarchal norms. For centuries, people accused of being ‘witches’ were really people whose voices, power, or autonomy threatened the system.
Instead of repeating oppression: it shines a light on it.
By invoking the phrase, we’re confronting the violence that was done and transforming it into a space for domestic abuse awareness, ritual theater, and feminist storytelling.
