About this Event
Burlington Youth Lacrosse Girls 3v3 is a one-day, preseason event open to girls ages 9-11.

What Is 3 vs. 3 Lacrosse?

3 vs. 3 lacrosse is fun and fast. It’s played on small fields (35 yards x 25 yards), no goalies, and no off-sides (similar to basketball.) Games last 25 minutes.

Players will need a stick, equipment, and a mouthguard. Rules are the same as regular field lacrosse with an emphasis on player safety.

Here’s What You Need to Do to Play

Each player must register individually. Before each game, we will randomly assign each player to one of four teams.

Location, Dates, and Times

We will play on the indoor turf field at Patrick Gymnasium on the campus of UVM at 97 Spear St, Burlington, VT 05405. Enter through Patrick Gymnasium Main Lobby and follow signs to the indoor turf.

The event is Saturday, March 26 from 12-1:30pm.

Cost

Cost for each individual for this session is $10. To request a waiver of this fee, please email Bill Carter at [email protected] (not.com.)

Game Rules
  • Each game will have a referee, but no coaches and the game should be as self-regulating as possible (the players run things!)
  • Each team can use the entire field and there are no offsides.
  • “Hot Rule” - a goal can only be scored in a team’s designated goal after at least 2 passes on that side of the field (a shot that is made into the goal by a “Not-Hot” team is not a score and will result in a change of possession.)
  • If the ball goes out of bounds, either from a shot or pass, the ball is awarded to the opposite team of who last touched the ball.
  • There are no creases.
  • There is no goalie and it is illegal to "guard" the goal.
  • Players are responsible for the safety of their opponents. No checking above the shoulders or from behind; no shooting "through a defender."
