With traditional book clubs, there's always the scramble to finish the book and the pressure to have something smart to say. At Silent Book Club, there's no assigned reading. Bring any book and read companionably with us!Here's how this low-key monthly event goes down:
-6:00-6:30 - Get settled. Get a drink/snack, grab a seat, hang out and chat!
-6:30-7:30 - Quiet reading hour--read the book you brought (this is essentially a flash mob of readers)
-7:30-8:00 - Stick around to chat more. Or, keep reading. Or, feel free to head out. Choose your own adventure, this is whatever you want it to be!
We'll be reading at Zero Gravity this month, with outdoor (covered patio) and indoor seating options. A few tips:
-If you're sensitive to background noise/music, bring headphones for the reading hour
-ZG has a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as great food for purchase. Please support the businesses that are so kind to host us!
-Recommend arriving on time to ensure you can grab a seat with the group
