With traditional book clubs, there's always the scramble to finish the book and the pressure to have something smart to say. At Silent Book Club, there's no assigned reading. Bring whatever book you're reading and come chat, have a drink, and read companionably with other Vermonters!Here's how this low-key monthly event goes down:
-1:00-1:30 - Get settled. Get a drink/snack, grab a seat, hang out and chat!
-1:30-2:30 - Read the book you brought (this is essentially a flash mob of readers)
-2:30-3:00 - Stick around to chat more. Or, keep reading. Or, feel free to head out. Choose your own adventure, this is whatever you want it to be!
We'll be reading at Zero Gravity this month, with outdoor and indoor seating options. A few tips:
-If you're sensitive to background noise/music, bring headphones for the reading hour!
-We often end up at the high-top tables on the left side of the brewery for our indoor spot, but I suspect some folks will want to grab tables outdoors this time too. Just look for people with books, we're hard to miss, and I'll post an update on our exact location once we start congregating!
