How is Burlingame doing on its Climate Action Plan? Sigalle Michael, the City's Sustainability Program Manager, will give an update on Burlingame's progress on this blueprint for addressing the challenge of climate change at a program on Tuesday, October 21, hosted by the from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Burlingame Community Center at 850 Burlingame Ave. Admission is free.
Sigalle will also cover how to make your home and life more sustainable by sharing details about rebates and incentives for saving on solar panels, heat pump water heaters and heating-cooling systems, electric vehicles, water-efficient landscaping, rain barrels, leaf blowers, electric bikes and more. Representatives from Peninsula Clean Energy will be on hand to answer your questions.
Burlingame was one of the first cities in the county to adopt a Climate Action Plan (CAP). The City reached 100% of its 10-year goals in its first CAP, adopted in 2009. Attaining the goals in its latest CAP will be more challenging.
