James Macaulay and Eugene Ball present an Australian incarnation of ‘Tanukis and Bunyips’, a project they performed and recorded in Japan in December. They will be playing compositions variously inspired by Hiroshi Homura, Haruki Murakami, Beethoven, and eating well. Featuring Macaulay on trombone and vocals, Ball on trumpet, and a wonderful team of old friends in Fran Swinn on guitar, Scott McConnachie on alto saxophone, Sam Anning on bass and Sam Bates on drums. Doors at 7:30, a felicitious bar with excellent jazz on the speakers for your listening pleasure, then two sets from 8:30.
