On June 17th, 1775, over 340 men gave their lives, and more than 1,100 were wounded at the Battle of Bunker Hill, including our esteemed Grand Master, M.W. Joseph Warren. In 1794, King Solomon’s Lodge honored his memory by dedicating the first monument to Joseph Warren.On June 17th, 1825, 5,000 Freemasons from across the Northeast gathered on these sacred grounds. Grand Master John Abbott, with the assistance of the Marquis de Lafayette, laid the cornerstone for the 221-foot obelisk we see today.
On Tuesday, June 17th, 2025, Freemasons will once again process to this hallowed site to rededicate the magnificent monument to our Brother Joseph Warren and the courageous men who embodied the spirit of America. Our Grand Master, M.W. George Hamilton, will preside over the ceremony with the honored assistance of the Marquis de Lafayette.
