About this Event
Join Kapayapaan for a workshop featuring Bumayah, a traditional folk dance from the Ifugao people of Northern Luzon. Originally a thanksgiving ritual to Kabunian, the dance celebrates gratitude, prosperity, and community through joyful, expressive movements inspired by nature and tradition.
Participants of all ages will learn the steps and the stories behind them, connecting with the rhythm, heritage, and spirit of Filipino culture. Rooted in their name — kapayapaan, or peace — Kapayapaan creates connection and understanding while celebrating the resilience and beauty of Filipino heritage.
Come dance, connect, and experience how cultural performance and education can spread peace — kapayapaan — and remind us that our stories are meant to be seen, heard, and felt.
This is a workshop open to everybody – – no experience needed! Join us at OAB room 251 (Which is on the second floor)
