OVERVIEW:
Sustainability is now an initiative for many organisations, but it is typically seen as separate from the regular business activities. This ‘bolted-on’ treatment can result in a fragmented approach that not only fails to fully embrace the Sustainability agenda, but misses an opportunity to leverage the benefits of Sustainability across the enterprise, leaving positive outcomes such as lower costs, higher revenues and enhanced brand reputation on the table.
Only when Sustainability is built into the normal business practices of an organisation will it truly be achieved in a holistic way that benefits the business as well as society and the environment. Otherwise, Sustainability will always be treated as an ‘add-on’ to the ‘normal’ work of the various functions and departments in the organisation; or even worse, seen as solely the job of the ‘Sustainability-ESG people’.
By having an integrated ‘Built-In, not bolted-on’ approach to Sustainability that incorporates the needs of all stakeholders, including Investors, Customers, Employees, Society and the Environment, the business will have a winning path forward to achieve performance and prosperity for everyone involved.
The aim of this workshop is for participants to learn the basic concepts and some methods to effectively integrate Sustainability into all areas of the organisation, from strategy all the way to operations, providing you with a valuable and unique skillset to help your organisation successfully implement its sustainability agenda and maximise its overall performance through a ‘built-in sustainability’ approach.

ABOUT THE TRAINER
John S. Hamalian has over 20 years of experience at General Motors and Dell, specialising in Innovation, Sustainability, Management, Organisational Development and Transformation. He has been actively engaged in the Sustainability and ESG movements for over a decade: lecturing, writing and training on the topics; promoting the integration of sustainability into regular business practices; and achieving professional competency in key areas such as Sustainable Business Strategy, Carbon Management and Corporate Social Responsibility. John is also an instructor at various institutions; a published writer on sustainability, management and global perspectives; and a speaker at conferences, global corporations, public agencies and professional associations.
