Better legal placements: Building supervision skills to help future lawyers succeed

Workplace supervisors are at the coal face of helping law students and junior lawyers successfully transition into the profession. But few of us have any training in being a mentor or supervisor. This workshop will help supervisors develop skills to enable them confidently assist a diverse range of future lawyers succeed. Enhance student's experience, your confidence as a supervisor, and the reputation of your firm as offering an excellent environment for juniors, by joining our free 2 hour workshop.

Attendees will be entitled to 1 unit of Practice Management PLUS 1 unit of Bullying, Harassment and Discrimination CPD

Presented by Associate Professor Beth Nosworthy, The University of Adelaide Law School and Dr Kylie Covark, supported by the Law Foundation of South Australia.

The face to face event will be held at the Law and Commerce Building at Flinders Univeristy.


The workshop will focus on topics including:

· Power dynamics in the legal profession,

· Opening lines of communication,

· Developing a positive workplace culture,

· Identifying and responding to mental health problems,

· A variety of supervisor roles,

· Supervision techniques, and

· Provision of feedback.
