The Building Safety Act establishes a strengthened regulatory framework focused on improving building safety, accountability and competence across the lifecycle of a project. Central to this is the new dutyholder regime, including the role of the Principal Designer, responsible for planning, managing and monitoring design work to ensure compliance with Building Regulations.
The event will focus on the implications for structural and civil engineers, explaining the need to demonstrate competence, actively manage design risk and clearly evidence compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
