This free training is designed for clinicians( both SE™ trained and non-SE™ practitioners) who have experienced shock from local attacks, equipping them with effective self-regulation strategies.
This training is being held by Glyndie Nickerson M.A., Ph.D.. Glyndie Nickerson is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute Faculty Member, a somatic psychotherapist and holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology. Glyndie works with adults, adolescents, and children, and specializes in nervous system dysregulation due to chronic stress & trauma, attachment ruptures, chronic illness, syndromes, and creative and spiritual development.
In this free training, Glyndie will cover:
Recognizing signs of shock, including hyperarousal and hypoarousal
Grounding and orienting techniques to help release stress and reconnect with the body
Strategies for self-regulation and emotional regulation
Normalizing feelings of grief, helplessness, ongoing fears, and anger
Guidance on moving out of a freeze state
Nurturing the nervous system through rest and self-care practices
Practical tools for regaining a sense of agency and building resilience after trauma
By the end, attendees will leave with valuable tools to support their recovery and resilience in the aftermath of a local crisis.
