About this Event
Layers, layers layers...you can never have enough layers in your mixed media art... building the history in a painting is what makes it intriguing and draws the viewer in. This workshop is all about adding layers to your art with papers, marks, scratches, paint and more. Choosing a color palette, subject matter, design and composition...getting it figured out before you approach your canvas and then learning what gets to stay and what needs to be eliminated to make a better painting.
Denise will be demonstrating layering techniques and sharing the best supplies to use for your mixed media art in this workshop. You will be working on a piece of mixed media art throughout the class with a wealth of attention from Denise in this small workshop.
The Adding Layers/Mixed Media workshop is the second in a series of monthly workshops being taught by professional artist Denise Cerro at the F1VEart Studio, each workshop will cover a different painting technique and process. These workshops will be kept to small groups of five students, to offer the best individual guidance and instruction in a small friendly gathering.
All basic supplies and materials will be supplied for this workshop...if you have favorite colors of paint, papers, ephemera, please feel free to bring them along. I look forward to seeing you in the studio!
This will be an all day workshop from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. For lunch, there are restaurants nearby for a quick meal or you can bring your own. We have a refrigerator but no microwave.
