About this Event
Welcome to the 3rd Annual Building Inclusive Communities: A Common Vision event.
The Action for Healthy Communities Society of Alberta organizes an annual gathering of grassroots community organizations and groups with the primary goal of providing a platform for showcasing exceptional community development initiatives led by local groups in Edmonton. The event emphasizes their vision for fostering inclusive communities.
Over the years, this event has become a hub where grassroots organizations, visionary community leaders, and individuals committed to community advancement come together to learn, collaborate, and inspire one another. This yearly gathering highlights the community work and significant impacts achieved over the past year with stakeholders.
Participation is by invitation only.
Purpose
Our main objective is to shine a spotlight on the outstanding efforts of grassroots organizations in Edmonton that are dedicated to building inclusive communities. We also seek to create a dynamic environment where community members and leaders can network, forge valuable connections, and engage in mutual learning.
Event Objectives
- Strengthen Community Bonds: Encourage participants to share their stories and form meaningful relationships.
- Inspire and Unite: Aim for attendees to leave feeling motivated and deeply connected to the transformative initiatives of grassroots organizations in Edmonton.
- Promote Learning and Creativity: Offer insightful presentations and activities designed to spark new ideas and inspire participants to launch projects that improve community well-being.
Participants: The event will host approximately 30 grassroots community groups, representatives from the community development sector and all three levels of government.
Keynote Speakers, Presentations and Panel Discussions:
The event will include presentations and panel discussions on key topics related to community development and inclusivity. Highlights will feature a keynote speech on "Building Resilience in Vulnerable Communities" and a community experience sharing discussion focused on Strengthening social ties and community bonds and Building trust and mutual respect among diverse groups
Cultural Performances: There will be cultural performances during this event to keep things interesting and fun.
Parking: Free parking is available at the venue
Refreshments: Coffee and tea will be available throughout the event and Light lunch will be provided
