For many years Deb Stanson worked as a corporate Marketing Director in the retirement and medical industries. She was approached in early 2018 to open the Fergus ReStore for Habitat for Humanity Guelph Wellington. She was ready for a change and the opportunity to work in the nonprofit sector in her final two years before retirement. She traded in her business suits and heels for jeans and steel toes and has not looked back. That was 6 ½ years ago!
Deb is now the Director for ReStores overseeing both the Guelph and Fergus ReStores as well as initiating many outreach endeavors. She is passionate about Habitat for Humanity’s mission that everyone deserves a safe and decent place to live. She has enjoyed the opportunity to work alongside many amazing volunteers, partners in the community and, ReStore staff, all working towards the goal of building stability and creating a pathway to homeownership for those in need.
Deb lives in Guelph with her husband Michael and her dog Marley, Deb's other passion is theatre. She has been active with the Elora Community Theatre since 1988 and currently serves as its President and director.
