About this Event

Building Community Resilience Against Climate Challenges

Concerned about the growing impacts of climate change on our community? You’re not alone. With more extreme weather events, rising temperatures, and challenges to our local food supply, it’s clear that we need to evolve. That’s why Citizens’ Climate Lobby of Charlottesville (CCL) is hosting an important event to explore how we can face these challenges together.

Join us for an evening of inspiring lightning talks featuring local climate leaders from CCL, ReLeaf, the City of Charlottesville’s Office of Sustainability, UVA Health, and Resilient Virginia. These short, impactful presentations will highlight how climate change is affecting us locally and  showcase innovative solutions such as urban forestry, building local, regional, and critically, personal resilience, and community activism.

Following the talks, connect with other community members and local leaders during an interactive networking session. Whether you’re already involved in climate action or just getting started, this event offers valuable insights and opportunities for everyone.

Snacks will be provided—please bring your own water bottle to help us reduce waste.

Note: Pre-registration is strongly encouraged as space is limited. Register for the event on Eventbrite. Registration is free.
