
About this Event
Building Community focuses on promoting a climate in which youth can feel part of a group. Community building can take place in both structured and unstructured ways.
This interactive workshop introduces methods for building supportive, youth-centered relationships and prepares participants to ask effective questions, listen actively to youth, and encourage young people by tapping their intrinsic motivation.
Participants will leave this session with practical skills that can be implemented immediately.

Registration Details
Registration is open for this event until it fills up or until two days before the workshop.
In the event of low registration, Weikart Workshops may be cancelled. Advance notice will be provided.
This workshop is limited to 20 participants. We will have a waiting list that we'll use to both fill spots that open up and also help plan our future workshop topic schedule.
Each participant will be provided with a workbook to use during the training and keep and receive a certificate of completion via email afterwards.
Location & Accessibility
This workshop will take place at the Community Engagement Center - Homewood (622 N. Homewood Ave. 15208).
There main entrance is an accessible entrance facing N. Homewood Ave. The workshop will take place in the Education Classroom on the lower level and is accessible via elevator or stairs.
If you come by car there is free on-street parking around the Community Engagement Center. There is also a metered parking lot on the corner of N. Homewood Ave. and Kelly St.
