About this Event
Consumer and legislative pressure is growing for the agricutural sector to increase product sustainability, through transitioning to Net Zero, halting biodiversity losses, and reducing pollution and waste. This must be achieved while building resilience to a changing climate, and maintaining productivity and profitabilty.
Interest is growing across agribusinesses about the potential of exploiting new technologies and farming practices, from regenerative farming, to climate smart crops, and the opportunities from digital agriculture and future technologies. Given many businesses have challenging sustainability targets set for 2030, urgent action is required now. To achieve this and accelerate sustainable transitions and adapt to climate change, businesses need to know what works when, where, and why.
The University of Nottingham has established a new Centre for Sustainable Agricultural Systems, creating one of the UK's largest groups of agricultural researchers, with expertise spanning production systems and crop types, focussed on working with businesses to address sector-wide challenges. We invite you to join an exciting workshop to learn about the centre, and to meet and network with some of the UK's leading experts in sustainable farming, who are working to support businesses in accelerating transitions in the UK and internationally
Agenda
Following introductory talks from leading researchers and industry experts, you will work with centre researchers to co-develop key questions and solutions that can accelerate the adoption and enhance the benefits of regenerative agriculture, with outputs shared with all participants.
