Join the D.C. Policy Center and CityWorks DC in-person on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 9:30 AM at MLK Library's 5th floor event space for the release of our Building Career Assets for Lifelong Success report.
The report presents a landscape of career asset building opportunities for D.C.’s high school aged youth, providing a look at how they can connect early to college and career.
The event will begin at 9:30 AM with coffee and networking, with the program starting at 10 AM. Dr. Yesim Sayin of the D.C. Policy Center will open the event by welcoming attendees, followed by opening remarks by DCPS alumna and Front Office Manager, Courtyard Marriot, Syamyia Beach, followed by an overview of the report findings by Chelsea Coffin of the D.C. Policy Center. Following the report overview, there will be an expert panel moderated by D.C. Policy Center’s Hannah Mason and featuring Dr. Lewis Ferebee, Chancellor of District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS); Pat Brantley, Chief Executive Officer of Friendship Public Charter School; Monica Dodge, Executive Director of Education Through Employment Pathways; and Robert Holm, founder of On-Ramps to Careers. The event will close with remarks from Jennie Niles, President and Chief Executive Officer of CityWorks DC.
