Welcome to Building Bridges to Wellbeing Retreat. I created this event because for some time I have experienced the isolation that I have seen others talk about on various therapy FB forums. Hi, I'm Linda a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Supervisor from Devon. I love what I do, but at times I miss connecting with others who understand the pressures of our work and working alone, especially in Private Practice. The collaboration that I get when I am with likeminded people during training or at CPD events is wonderful, and essential to our professional and personal development, however so is Self-Care, which is why it is a guiding principle in our ethical frameworks.
With this in mind, I decided to dare greatly (yes a Brene Brown fan), and do something about it. My need for collaboration and connection with other like-minded people led me to book a beautiful Farmhouse/retreat centre in the beautiful countryside of Dartmoor National Park, for a weekend from the 10th to the 13th May, and Building Bridges to Wellbeing Retreats was formed. I am really really excited to be bringing the counselling/therapy community together for a weekend of self-care, self-exploration, connecting with nature and with each other.
The weekend will be a mixture of the ethical principles of Self-Care and CPD. Facilitated by an experienced group facilitator, Mark Hartshorn a fellow therapist who for years has trained, supervised, nurtured, many within the therapy community, I will also be on hand to support Mark. The weekend will be focused on 8 dimensions of wellbeing, and will offer the opportunity for us to explore our own needs within these dimensions. I have a wonderful retreat Chef who will be preparing a delicious daily smorgasbord of tasty food, and an experienced sound meditation practitioner. There will be outdoor activities, meditation, evenings of board games, campfire songs, music and stories and much more!
I am also creating a one day event for the 11th May if you would like to come for the day only.
Maximum numbers for the event will be capped at 25 people.
Prices for the Weekend retreat will be £345 for a Single Occupancy Room, and £295 for a shared occupancy room. All rooms at Brimpts farm have their own private shower/bathroom and are all multiple occupancy. The cost for the day retreat is £125.
