We are excited to have Mayor Shane McFarland presenting on the Growth in Murfreesboro. Shane McFarland was elected to the Murfreesboro City Council in 2006. McFarland is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University. He served as 1995-1996 MTSU Student Body (SGA) President and received his BA in Accounting in 1997. He is a 1998 Graduate of Leadership Rutherford.McFarland was elected Mayor of Murfreesboro in 2014 as the youngest Mayor in the history of Murfreesboro. He has helped guide the 11th fastest growing City in the country with programs for renewed downtown development, recruiting corporate jobs, enhanced parks and recreation offerings, additional public safety facilities and a renewed focus on Customer Service.
